Equipment

  • Baking dish, preferably 3-quarts
  • Mixing bowl

Ingredients

  • ¾ stick butter melted
  • cups sugar
  • 1 cup self-rising flour
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 cups blackberries
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • Whipped cream

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and use 1/4 stick of the butter to grease a baking dish.
  • Mix the sugar, flour, and milk. Whisk in the remaining butter.
  • Rinse and dry the blackberries.
  • Pour the batter into the dish and sprinkle the berries evenly over the top. Sprinkle 1/4 cup sugar over the berries.
  • Bake for 50 minutes.
  • Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the top of the cobbler.
  • Bake for 10 more minutes.
  • Serve with whipped cream and enjoy yourself after a hard day's work.
