Equipment

  • Electric Mixer
  • Mixing bowl

Ingredients

The Board

  • 1 cup salted butter softened
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp pumpkin pie spice make your own by mixing the ingredients in the next section (but only use 1/2 tsp of the result)
  • cup pumpkin puree
  • cup honey we used Sourwood Honey which is fantastic
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract we avoid imitation whenever possible
  • Dipping breads we used stroopwafels and nutty berry bread crackers

Pumpkin Pie Spice (in case you don't have a premade mix)

  • 3 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tsp ground ginger
  • 2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp ground allspice
  • 1 tsp ground cloves

Instructions

  • In a large bowl using a heavy whisk (or electric mixer), whip the butter, cinnamon, and spice. Gradually add in the pumpkin puree as you continue to beat the mixture.
  • Add in the honey and vanilla and beat for another 2 minutes.
  • Serve on a large plate surrounded by your choice of dipping breads and crackers! This goes great also on bagels for a sweet breakfast.

Notes

This was our first take on a butter board, and we felt it is the perfect season for them! They're a versatile dish open to a ton of options from spicy, to savory, to sweet. This is more of a dessert style board and it's absolutely delicious. The same ingredients would probably work great mixed into cream cheese instead if you prefer!
