Cheese Stuffed Wizard Hats Pasta with Hot Honey Drizzle
Equipment
- Baking Dish
- Tin Foil
Ingredients
Pasta
- 9 oz hat shaped pasta see the notes for where to find them
- 1 cup olive oil
- 8 tbsp hot honey we used Mike's Hot Honey, or combine honey with a small amount of hot sauce
Filling
- 1 cup whole milk ricotta cheese
- 1 cup finely shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup feta cheese
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp herbs de provence or dried Italian seasoning
- ¼ tsp kosher salt
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and get a pot of water boiling over a cooking fire or stove.
- Boil the pasta (which at this point the disks and hats are separate) for 4 minutes. They shouldn't be fully cooked yet when you take them out so don't worry if they're still crunchy. Pour some cold water over them to stop them from cooking more, then lay them out to dry a bit.
- Combine all the filling ingredients in a bowl and mix. Store in the fridge until ready you're ready to use it.
- Heavily grease a baking dish with about 1/4 of the cup of olive oil. Then take the hat pointy side down, stuff it with some of the filling, place the disk on top, and then gently flip it over right-side-up and lay in the dish. Repeat with all the pasta, then drizzle olive oil over all of them. This is to keep them moist while baking.
- Cover the dish with foil, then bake for 30 to 40 minutes. If you don't want a little crunch, pull it out after 25 minutes and drizzle some more olive oil over the hats.
- As soon as the baking is done, drizzle the hot honey over the hats you intend on serving so the honey warms up.
- Serve to hungry adventurers, granting them an additional spell slot in their next Dungeons and Dragons session!
