Equipment

  • Cutting board
  • Knife

Ingredients

  • 1 stick Whiskey barrel aged salami or any meat of choice
  • 1 small package crackers of choice we went with something similar to saltines, you don't want them to have too much flavor and overpower the rest of your board
  • 8 oz La Tur cheese or soft cheese of choice, but we loved this one
  • 4 oz peppered Norwegian roasted salmon
  • 6 oz coconut shavings
  • 1 cup mixed berries of choice
  • ¼ cup nuts of choice we used pecans

Instructions

  • Slice all the ingredients into roughly bit sized pieces and serve directly on your cutting board! We unpackaged our meats and cheese and wrapped them in reusable beeswax cloth to minimize trash that we would have to pack out of the riverside that we enjoyed this by.

Notes

We absolutely love charcuterie boards for adventuring in nature. They lend themselves well to packing, especially if you choose a harder cheese (unlike the one we chose in this recipe), clean up easily, and you have a massive amount of variation available to you. This is a perfect appetizer to prep for your Dungeons and Dragons party before an adventure deep into the woods where they'd be having quick meals on the road while watching out for goblin raids.
