Ingredients

Dry Mix

  • cup old fashioned rolled oats
  • ½ cup raw almonds chopped
  • ¼ cup shredded coconut
  • ½ cup crystallized ginger chopped small
  • ½ cup dried cranberries

Melty Mix

  • cup almond butter or your choice
  • ¼ cup maple syrup we used light maple syrup to save on sugar
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened almond milk or your choice
  • ½ cup Medjool dates pitted and chopped small
  • 2 scoops vanilla protein powder

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 325°F (162°C) and line a baking dish with parchment paper.
  • Combine all the Dry Mix ingredients in your mixing bowl.
  • Add all the Melty Mix ingredients in your saucepan over a medium-low heat cooking fire or stove. Stir slowly until melted.
  • Pour the Melty Mix into the mixing bowl with the Dry Mix and stir thoroughly.
  • Set your baking sheet and mixing bowl near the sink, wet your hands, and grab the mix and press it down into the sheet in a large rectangle about ¼-½ inch thick. Repeatedly wet your hands while you press to avoid sticking.
  • Bake for 20 minutes, let cool, then cut into 16 bars. Store in an airtight container or wrap individually, we used beeswax paper to wrap some for a hike! Serve to hungry adventurers before your next big dungeon!
