Elven Adventuring Rations - Ginger Cranberry Power Bars inspired by DnD and Fantasy Games
Equipment
- Mixing bowl
- Saucepan
- Baking pan
Ingredients
Dry Mix
- 1½ cup old fashioned rolled oats
- ½ cup raw almonds chopped
- ¼ cup shredded coconut
- ½ cup crystallized ginger chopped small
- ½ cup dried cranberries
Melty Mix
- ⅓ cup almond butter or your choice
- ¼ cup maple syrup we used light maple syrup to save on sugar
- 2 tbsp unsweetened almond milk or your choice
- ½ cup Medjool dates pitted and chopped small
- 2 scoops vanilla protein powder
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (162°C) and line a baking dish with parchment paper.
- Combine all the Dry Mix ingredients in your mixing bowl.
- Add all the Melty Mix ingredients in your saucepan over a medium-low heat cooking fire or stove. Stir slowly until melted.
- Pour the Melty Mix into the mixing bowl with the Dry Mix and stir thoroughly.
- Set your baking sheet and mixing bowl near the sink, wet your hands, and grab the mix and press it down into the sheet in a large rectangle about ¼-½ inch thick. Repeatedly wet your hands while you press to avoid sticking.
- Bake for 20 minutes, let cool, then cut into 16 bars. Store in an airtight container or wrap individually, we used beeswax paper to wrap some for a hike! Serve to hungry adventurers before your next big dungeon!
