Equipment

  • Mixer
  • Something to sift flour

Ingredients

  • 3 sticks butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 cups chunky applesauce
  • 1 cup cold coffee
  • 8 oz brick of cream cheese
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3 cups powdered sugar plus more if needed

Instructions

  • Cream together two sticks of margarine or butter (softened, not microwaved), and the regular sugar. Then add the eggs and mix again.
  • Sift the flour, then add it to the creamed mix a cup at a time, mixing in between cups. Then add the baking soda and cinnamon and mix again.
  • Add the applesauce and coffee to the mix, bit by bit, stirring in between portions.
  • Grease and sugar your baking pan, not flour. Bake at 350° for 35 minutes.
  • While its baking, make the icing by beating together the cream cheese and a stick of butter until smooth and creamy. Add in the vnailla and powdered sugar as needed until a thick and spreadable consistency is achieved.
  • Let the cake cook for a bit before you put the icing on, then serve to hungry adventurers!

Notes

This recipe was provided by Spectre Dash in our Discord server and voted for us to cook by our lovely supporters in our Patreon! We were absolutely in love with this cake. It was moist and packed with flavor and love. It is undoubtedly one of our favorite cakes of our lives, no exaggeration. We plan on cooking this for our next Thanksgiving!
In memoriam Kathleen Turner 1928-2022
