Ingredients

  • 1 cup pumpkin puree not pumpkin pie filling
  • 4 cups apple cider get the good stuff
  • 2 cups orange juice we like pulp but pulp free is probably best for a typical cocktail experience
  • ½ cup bourbon we used Woodford Reserve but it's not a prevelant flavor in the drink so you can go cheap
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 bottles (750 ml) champagne chilled
  • sliced apples, oranges, cinnamon sticks, and star anise for garnish

Instructions

  • Pour all the ingredients before the champagne into a punch bowl and stir well until the puree has dissolved.
  • Pour in the champagne and give a light stir
  • Garnish and serve to thirsty DnD adventurers!

Notes

This cocktail recipe is so easy and is a fall favorite of ours. At first the pumpkin seems like it might be odd but it's in just the right ratio that it plays well with the rest of the flavors present in the drink. We went a bit light on the bourbon in this recipe but next time we'd probably make it a touch stronger, just a personal preference. Another option for liquor may be rum or vodka depending on what sort of flavor you're looking for. We thought the cinnamon and bourbon went well for the warm fall theme of the drink.
