Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1 lb thick cut bacon
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 tbsp garlic minced
  • 3 tbsp chives
  • ground black pepper to taste
  • 2.5 lb potatoes shredded, or tater tots
  • 15 oz cream of mushroom soup
  • 10 oz cream of celery soup
  • 8 oz french-fried onion rings
  • 2 cups cheese we used shredded parmesan

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F
  • Over a medium-high cooking fire or stove, fry your potatoes until they start beginning to crisp, but not all the way. About 15 minutes.
  • Remove the potatoes and then fry the bacon until almost done, saving most of the grease in the pan.
  • Remove the bacon and add in the onion and garlic, fry for 2 minutes and then add in the beef, pork, salt, and pepper. Fry until brown and then drain the excess liquid.
  • In a large baking dish, or cast iron skillet, put the beef, pork, and onions in a flat layer and top with chives.
  • Layer the potatoes on top, then the bacon, then spread the soups, then the french-fried onions.
  • Bake for 1 hour, or until the top gets nice and brown. Top with cheese.
  • Serve to your hungry adventuring party!

  1. 5 stars
Added mushrooms and used queso shredded cheese. Super tasty and filling. I’m actually on the edge of having a food coma after two helpings.
