Chocolate Maple Banana Sweet Rolls - Fantasy Video Game Inspired Cooking
Equipment
- Mini bundt cake pan Ours had 6 bundt cake moulds in one pan
- Large Mixing bowl
Ingredients
Bread
- 6 very ripe bananas
- 1 cup unsalted butter room temperature
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 4 large eggs lightly beaten
- 3 cups flour
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- chocolate chips to taste, we used a whole small bag
- 3 tbsp maple syrup use the real stuff, trust us
Icing
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- milk about half a cup, depends on taste
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350℉ (175℃) and grease and flour your bundt pan
Bread
- Mash the bananas with a fork until they're the consistency of apple sauce.
- In a large mixing bowl cream together the butter and both sugars. Then add the banana mix and eggs and mix. Then add the baking soda, salt, flour and mix. Then add the chocolate chips, vanilla, maple syrup, and mix until just well blended.
- Pour into the bundt cake pan (you may need to do a few batches, don't overfill the moulds) and bake for about 30 minutes. The baking time will vary depending on the moulds you have in your pan. After about 25 minutes carefully insert a toothpick into the thickest part of one of the rolls and see if it comes out clean. If it doesn't, add 5 minutes to the timer and repeat until they appear golden brown and the toothpick test comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and let rest for at least 15 minutes before applying icing. Otherwise the icing will be too runny
Icing
- While the rolls are baking, you can prepare the icing. In a bowl start with all of the powdered sugar. Then add 1 tbsp of the milk and mix. Keep adding a bit of milk and mixing until you achieve the consistency of melted chocolate, or however you like your icing thickness. Then add the vanilla and set aside.
- Drizzle on the rolls once they've completely cooled. Now make sure nobody steals them before you go take down a dragon!
