Equipment
- Baking sheet
- Pan
- Cutting board
Ingredients
- Pizza dough either 1/5th of our Twisted Tavern Loaf recipe (see the Notes), or store-bought
- 2 strips thick-cut bacon
- 1 scallion sliced
- ½ cup oyster mushrooms sliced
- 1 can Cento San Marzano peeled Tomatoes
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 heirloom tomato sliced
- 1 cup cubed mozzarella
- ½ cup clover sprouts
Instructions
- Preheat your hearth or oven to 475°F (245°C)
- Fry the bacon in a pan over a medium heat cooking fire or stove. Then remove the bacon and fry the scallions and mushrooms in the bacon grease.
- Generously coat your baking sheet with olive oil. Lay your pizza dough on the sheet and gently spread out into about a 12" circle.
- Top the dough with the tomato sauce to your taste, covering with enough to reach about 1/2" from the edges of the dough. Dust with the dried oregano, garlic powder, and salt, then drizzle the olive oil on top.
- Add your toppings to taste. We layered cubed mozzarella, about 2 strips of bacon, half of the sliced tomato, and the full scallion. Feel free to get creative here and add what you'd like!
- Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is cooked through. Let sit for 5 minutes, then serve to hungry adventurers!
Notes
If you would like to make homemade pizza dough for this recipe, try our Twisted Tavern Loaf and use about 1/5th of the dough per pizza. This recipe came out more delicious than we expected. We definitely want to refine our pizza recipes moving forward. We had a bit of a struggle with preventing the pizza from sticking to the sheet, but we didn't use a lot of olive oil to grease it beforehand so we'll try that next time. We found this to be a thick and hearty pizza that felt perfect for a tavern setting in a Dungeons and Dragons or other tabletop role playing game and we hope you enjoy it!
