Instructions
Preheat your hearth or oven to 475°F (245°C)
Fry the bacon in a pan over a medium heat cooking fire or stove. Then remove the bacon and fry the scallions and mushrooms in the bacon grease.
Generously coat your baking sheet with olive oil. Lay your pizza dough on the sheet and gently spread out into about a 12" circle.
Top the dough with the tomato sauce to your taste, covering with enough to reach about 1/2" from the edges of the dough. Dust with the dried oregano, garlic powder, and salt, then drizzle the olive oil on top.
Add your toppings to taste. We layered cubed mozzarella, about 2 strips of bacon, half of the sliced tomato, and the full scallion. Feel free to get creative here and add what you'd like!
Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is cooked through. Let sit for 5 minutes, then serve to hungry adventurers!
Notes
If you would like to make homemade pizza dough for this recipe, try our Twisted Tavern Loaf and use about 1/5th of the dough per pizza. This recipe came out more delicious than we expected. We definitely want to refine our pizza recipes moving forward. We had a bit of a struggle with preventing the pizza from sticking to the sheet, but we didn't use a lot of olive oil to grease it beforehand so we'll try that next time. We found this to be a thick and hearty pizza that felt perfect for a tavern setting in a Dungeons and Dragons or other tabletop role playing game and we hope you enjoy it!
