Instructions
Pour your dry ingredients into a bowl and combine well.
Pour your wet ingredients into a microwaveable bowl and combine well. If the nut butter is too thick you can microwave it for 10 seconds at a time to soften it. Let it cool back to room temperature before moving to the next step, otherwise the chocolate will melt.
Combine the wet and dry ingredients, mixing well.
Lay parchment paper onto your baking sheet. Spoon roughly golf ball sized bites in a grid onto your baking sheet, adjusting their size so you have around 20 balls. Squish each ball slightly to make a somewhat-cylindrical shape.
Cover the sheet with plastic wrap or more parchment paper and refrigerate for on hour or longer.
Serve to your Dungeons and Dragons table during their next day of travel!
Notes
These energy balls carry 160 calories, 10g fat, 16g carbs, and 5g protein, making them a great way to fill up on the go and sneak in a bit of protein. You can make them even better by substituting light maple syrup for the honey to reduce the carbs in each. Serve these during your next Dungeons and Dragons travel day or other fantasy tabletop role playing game and let us know how your quest goes! This recipe is part of our new series of "Tavern food made healthy", an initiative we're taking to make fantasy foods come to life in a way that aligns with your health goals.
